Firm makes ‘healing super-water’ – BBC
US scientists have developed “super-oxidised” water which they say speeds up wound healing. Oculus, the Californian firm which developed the water – made by filtering it through a salt membrane – says it kills viruses, bacteria and fungi.

Brazil’s president issues a license allowing the country to purchase a generic version of an AIDS drug, despite a U.S. company’s patent. Thailand has taken similar steps. Both countries say they’re simply taking advantage of the legal options available to them. The drug companies say their intellectual property rights are being violated.

FDA Approves Period Suppression Pill – AP via Yahoo! Finance
The first birth-control pill meant to put a stop to women’s monthly periods indefinitely won federal approval Tuesday. Called Lybrel, it’s the first such pill to receive Food and Drug Administration approval for continuous use. When taken daily, the pill can halt women’s menstrual periods indefinitely and prevent pregnancies.

FDA to monitor toothpaste from China

U.S. health officials are beginning to check all shipments of toothpaste coming from China, following reports of tainted products in other countries, a government spokesman said on Wednesday.
