Maker defends diabetes drug; Others call for FDA warning - Newsday
As GlaxoSmithKline’s medical director defended the embattled diabetes drug Avandia Wednesday, a leading consumer advocate reiterated his stance that the drug is inherently unsafe. Dr. Ronald Krall, medical director of the pharmaceutical giant, posted a letter in the online version of The Lancet medical journal saying data from long-term, large-scale clinical trials has shown Avandia to be safe.
