Product review and giveaway: Sweat GUTR

It’s getting hot in here! And sweat is in my eyes…
I went running one morning last week with my lovely wife. At 6:15am it was 86 degrees with 94% humidity (In the immortal words of Peter Griffin, “Holy crap!”) which translates into me wiping sweat from my brow every 3 seconds once I get warmed up. Ughhh.
I couldn’t see and it was extremely aggravating. I can’t bear to wear any sweat bands I’ve seen. They’re hot and make me feel like the one of the white guys on the team the Harlem Globetrotters always played humiliated.
Well, I stumbled across this thing later that day and was intrigued. It doesn’t look bulky and hot like a sweat band, and it’s sleek enough to fit with a bicycle helmet. Two of them arrived at my house today, and what perfect timing! In Kansas City, it is currently a sunny 97 (feels like 106) with highs in the 100+ range all the rest of the week. Between now and Friday I will be going for runs and bike rides (while staying extremely hydrated with icewater) while wearing this thing on my noggin’.
Just post any sort of comment in this thread on what you think about this thing and you will be entered in the drawing. It will be a names-from-a-hat affair and I will announce the winner and have a full product review on Friday of this week.

Okay so my haircut prevents me from not wearing a sweat/head band of sorts when I work out, but this looks a little like a plastic “o” around the head.
Does it breathe?
Is it flexible – or would it rip my hair out.
Wade, best wishes for running in this heat. Please don’t die out there.
Glad to hear I’m not alone in this high heat + horrendous humidity hullabaloo.
Nah, none of us are alone in anything, at least according to teh interweb…
Welcome to Healthbolt.
Me, me!!! Or, can I at least review it?
No, you\’re a contributor and my wife. You can\’t win it. You can borrow mine (if you wash it), stinky.
I would like to win it. My forehead starts sweating in June and stops in October, sometimes November.
I would also like to win this! Because I, unlike Tommy, will use it for good and not drinking!
I looks interesting. Sweatbands have never worked for me either…they don’t work well when they get too wet and they look dorky. So, I suffer with nothing but a nearby towel (or more likely, occasional wipes with the back of my hand).
At $15 + S/H, the Sweat GUTR looks pricey. So, I can’t wait to see your review before I consider shelling out some cash for one. BTW, all the reviews on their website talk about using it while biking (and, incidently hiding it under your helmet). So, put it through some other paces and tell us how it holds up (and looks)!
I want one!! I would wear a sweat band but then everyone thinks its a halloween costume from the 70’s.
I’ve seen alot of riders with these and am thinking of getting one
Hi~
I’ve been using my gutr for about 1 year and LOVE it. I ride my bike everyday and probably sweat about 1L. I got sick of wringing out my sweat bands throughout my rides and hated the sweat leaking into my sunglasses. That part drives me crazy.
I’ve only come back to the site because I just lost my gutr and need a new one! I’m buying 2 this time. Thanks for a great solution to an annoying problem.
