Maybe the original poster could state the symbol stamped on the container.
Until then, I will assume it is a stupid idea, and NOT safe to consume from, heated or not.
Presently, even the safety of food grade plastic is being questioned.

I would say this is safe to consume from, generally speaking the consumable issue would only be if you heated your sandwich in this container, which I would not recommend!

Great idea! What size spindle is that? Do you suppose there is a correct spindle/bagel ratio depending on the sandwich toppings?

Really? Firstly, you can save money by reusing this CD case to hold your bagel sandwich instead of buying Gladware or a sandwich bag. Secondly, you are recycling the CD case as opposed to throwing it away and letting it waste space in a landfill. Lastly, using sandwich bags is utterly wasteful. Every day a new sandwich, every day a sandwich bag in the trash. If you take your lunch every day on a typical American five day work week, you’re using twenty sandwich bags per month. That’s 240 sandwich bags per year. Whereas if you reused a CD case or reused a Gladware or Tupperware, you’d throw away nothing.

i would use this definitely! the fact that it used to hold CD’s makes it so much better..awesome!
