Today is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDs Awareness Day, so why not join Healthbolt and The Red Pump Project and spread the word.
HIV/AIDS remains one of those subjects that not talked about so much over the dinner table or when out for coffee with the girls. But prehaps it should be because the numbers tell us it’s a disease that does not seem to be going away. In fact, according this Snapshot of the U.S. Epidemic provided by the Kaiser Family Foundation, it seems to be growing…
• Number of new HIV infections, 2006: 56,300
• Number of people living with HIV/AIDS: 1.1 million, including more than 468,000 with AIDS
• Number of AIDS deaths since beginning of epidemic: 583,298, including 14,561 in 2007
• Percent of people infected with HIV who don’t know it: 21%
So what can you do? The CDC suggests the following.
- Get tested for HIV. To find a testing site center near you, text your zip code to Know IT (566948).
- Attend an event near you.
- Download or listen to National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day ( 2:56 mins)
- Learn more about the impact of HIV/AIDS among women in the United States.
- Stand up against stigma, racism, and other forms of discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS.
- Donate time and money to HIV/AIDS organizations.
Sexbolt Saturday: Asexual? You Are Not Alone.
Remember Claire, the 105 year old who said ‘no sex was the secret to longevity’. Well, it turns out that she’s not alone in being disinterested in sex. Seems that that are a whole lot of people (research has the number at 1% of the population) out there who classify themselves as asexual - as having no interest in sex and feeling no sexual attraction.
It’s a concept that most of us have difficulty understanding. We ask: How could someone be totally disinterested in sex? Don’t they want to make connections and have relationships with others? Don’t they want someone to love? And what about children and a family?
David Jay has been wrestling with these questions most of his life. Early on, he realized that unlike all his friends, he really had no interest in sex. It must have been a scary revelation for a teenage boy. After all, we live in a society obsessed with sex. A society that highlights people continuously as sexual beings. And here was David with no interest what so ever.
Wanting to make connects with others who felt the same way, David Jay started the Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) in 2001 to provide a community and a voice for asexuals. Today, he is one of the most prominent voices and is determined to foster a greater general understanding of asexuality by talking sex…
“The problem is not that there is too much discussion about sex; 99 percent of the world really, really likes sex, so it is something that should be talked about openly and honestly. But we need to have more discussion about how people can not have sex and still be happy.”
But it’s not just the general public that Jay and the AVEN are targeting. They are also targeting the psychological community to get asexuality cataloged as a legitimate sexual orientation rather than diagnosed as a disease or mental illness. But with some psychologists looking at asexuality as a sexual dysfunction that could take some time.

Sexbolt Saturday: Allergic to Semen? Yes, It’s Possible

Did you know that it’s possible to be allergic to the white stuff (and I’m not talking milk here, people). Yep, that very tangible sign of a guy’s pleasure can leave his partner red, itchy, blotchy and more.
What causes this is a sensitivity to the proteins in a guy’s semen, a condition which actually has a name: human seminal plasma protein hypersensitivity (SPH). A person can be sensitive to the proteins in the semen of most men, or to a specific guy’s proteins in particular.
Symptoms of an allergy may include localized pain, itching, redness, swelling, hives or even trouble breathing! Most symptoms usually show up within 20 -30 minutes of contact and can last for hours or days. The severity really depends on body chemistry.
How to treat this very unpleasant side effect of lovin’? Condoms, of course, create a barrier (unless you have an allergy to latex, of course) or perhaps a look into desensitization, something your health care professional might be able to help you with.

It’s Sexbolt Saturday again, everyone, and today’s post will be short and sweet so your time is better spent, if you know what I mean, wink-wink.
Today, I stumbled across a sex position (something you’ve told me you want to learn more about) that is sure to make both of your heads spin (be sure to read the tips included for the most benefit.)
Called “The Mermaid”, all you need is a flat surface, a pillow and a dollop of flexibility. The rest is up to you.

Sexbolt Saturday: Ladies Aren’t The Only Ones with ‘Spots’ - Here are the Men’s

Earlier in the week, I talked about the well-known G-Spot and lesser-known A-Spot that seemingly turn women into sexual mush (if you are able to find them, that is!)
And contrary to popular belief, men also have “spots” - and it’s not their entire member. While that’s certainly a hot zone as well, according to Cosmo, men actually have 7 - yes 7! - different “Moan Zones.” Check them all out here, as well as explicit directions on how to stimulate these areas for mind-blowing manly excitement.
Another Cosmo gem: 3 types of sex men crave. A fun read with plenty of ideas in case you’re in the mood for a little experimentation this weekend.
Enjoy, my sexy friends. Enjoy!
Sexual Anatomy by the Letters: The Difference Between The G- and A-Spots

Would you believe that I just received a Sexual Anatomy 101 lesson from a teen magazine? It’s true. In the latest issue of CosmoGirl!, there is a Sex Q & A that gave this 30-something girl a good, solid schooling.
So, we all know about the G-Spot. But did you know about the A-Spot? (Yep, another elusive “spot” that’s probably impossible to find.)
Here is the difference, according to the magazine:
Both:
- May or may not exist in every woman.
- Are hard to locate.
- Are spongy, small areas on the roof of the vaginal wall (your stomach’s side, not your back’s.)
G-Spot:
- Was named for gynecologist Ernst Grafenberg, the first person to describe it in a published study.
- Is close to the entrance of the vagina.
- Can produce an ejaculatory-like fluid when stimulated. (Huh.)
A-Spot:
- Is closer to the cervix (the entrance to the uterus at the top of the vagina.)
- Produces strong contractions when stimulated.
So wow, there you go. Sexual Anatomy 101, courtesy of a teen magazine (it’s amazing what the young people know these days, eh?)

Last week, I asked you guys to tell me what you want to know more about in the, ahem, bedroom department. And one of you said “sex positions.” Well, lucky thing, I ran a feature on this very thing back in April. Give it a look - it points you in some fun directions (literally) and all but guarantees a great time.
I want you to know I’m still on the hunt for more sites, but mind you, some of them are a smidge graphic. I’ll keep you posted though.
As for the prolonging orgasms / multiple orgasms request, consider me on the case. In the meantime, read here to find out why orgasms are so darn good for you, as well as how to ramp them up a tad.
I’ll be back, dear sexy beasts, with follow-ups to these questions and more. In the meantime, feel free to throw out even more topics. After all, researching sex for the good of you readers isn’t half bad of a job, you know?
Enjoy your weekend. Happy Sexbolt Saturday.

If there is something about sex or relationships I can dig up for you, let me know. Chances are there are all kinds of peeps who want to know the same darn thing.
Just leave me a comment here (you can be anonymous) or send me an email (use “Liberty’s” email address link in the right sidebar over there.) —–>
