Fans of ‘The Biggest Loser’ reality series looking to lose weight will be pleased to hear that the doctor behind the program, Dr Robert Huizenga, has written a book “Where Did All The Fat Go” to guide them on their weight loss.
But if you plan on following his action plan, be ready to sweat.
Huizenga’s weight loss program focuses on large quantities of jogging daily and a strict balanced eating plan. According to him, the body has to work at 120% 7 days a week in order to lose the fat.
But if you plan on following his action plan, be ready to sweat.

Huizenga’s weight loss program focuses on large quantities of jogging daily and a strict balanced eating plan. According to him, the body has to work at 120% 7 days a week in order to lose the fat. To do this, anyone looking to lose weight needs to exercise at least 2 hours a day.

There is no time to rest.

As for the type of exercise, the book focuses primarily on walking and jogging as the two best ways to lose the fat.

It’s a program that has merits but be advised, it’s not suitable for everyone. Those who seldom exercise or who are morbidly obese will struggle with this program and before commencing it, should check with their own doctor.

Talking about dieting and hunger in the same sentence somehow doesn’t seem right.
But what if you could lose weight and help feed the hungry at the same time?
That’s the idea behind a new campaign created by General Mills, NBC’s The Biggest Loser and the non-profit organization Feeding America.
It’s called the Pound for Pound Challenge because, for ever pound you lose, General Mills will donate 10 cents to Feeding America. That’s enough, apparently, to provide one pound of groceries to a local food bank.

Of course, if you are one of those lucky people who don’t need to lose any weight, you can still become involved with the Pound for Pound Challenge by…

All in all, the Pound for Pound Challenge sounds like a truly win-win situation.

What do you say?

Did you see the October 7th episode (see video here) when trainer Jillian Michaels presented Coleen, who was minus a workout partner, with a Motorola MOTOROKR S9-HD headset complete with a Motorola Wireless Workout programmed in?
Looks like a pretty nifty tool. Lighter than most sunglasses, the headset is not only stable fitting (a absolute necessity during a workout) but also has a discreet, behind-the-head-wearing style. In fact, if it wasn’t for the the high-definition surround sound music playing, you could easily forget it’s there.

Never miss a call or a beat ever again.

If the Motorola S9-HD headset sounds like an accessory you could use, then you’re in luck…

Healthbolt has one to give away.

All you have to do is leave a comment below by Tuesday 18th November and the lucky receipent of this great headset will be announced the next day. This one, I’m afraid, is only for US residents.

After all, as every dieter knows, frequent restaurant visits can play havoc on your weight loss goals.

The trick, Bernie says, is to follow these tips…

- Pick the restaurant carefully.
- Don’t sacrifice taste. It doesn’t have to be bland or boring to be low in calories.
- Don’t feel guilty about what you do end up eating.
- Make smart decisions about what you order depending on the amount of exercise done and food consumed earlier in day.
- Don’t feel you have to eat a dish the way it is described on the menu. Ask for changes such as ‘baked’ instead of ‘fried’.
- Carry around a calorie counter to help you decide.
- If you think the meals too large, then get half of it boxed up and kept in the kitchen until you’re ready to leave.
- Order a dessert if you really want it, but do it rarely.
- Craving something sweet – order fruit, even if it’s not on the menu.
- Don’t eat out every day. Make it special.
