Great news for guys with erectile dysfunction, especially those who get little to no benefit from Viagra. There is new hope on the horizon - rotten eggs. Seems a new study by Italian researchers have determined that hydrogen sulphide, the gas arising from rotten eggs, encourages arousal in men. Apparently minute amounts of this gas released by key nerve cells during arousal helps control and sustain an erection.

According to researcher Professor Cirino, of the University of Naples Federico II in Italy, this discovery should make it possible “…in future to develop drugs that either deliver hydrogen sulphide or that control the hydrogen sulphide production.” In other words, create a new Viagra.

Given that this gas is emitted by hot springs and spas around the world, will this mean that places with hot springs will become a drawcard for those with sexual dysfunction? I know one of at least one New Zealand city that hopes it might.

Did you know that one man in 10 will suffer from impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, at some stage in their life?
But according to a new study, all guys need to do to reduce the risk of them suffering from this infliction is to get out of the house and into the garden.
Sounds pretty simple. According to the researchers at the Medical University of Vienna, who studied 674 guys aged 45 to 60, half an hour of gardening five days of week can make all the difference, reducing the risk of impotence by around 38%.

Put a bit more sweat into it, burn even more calories, and the risk reduction will be even greater.

Granted, it doesn’t have to be just gardening. Other forms of moderate exercise – dancing, cycling, and jogging – can also have the same effect.

But what a great argument to use to convince your guy to get into the garden…

Looks like that little blue pill is moving out the bedroom and into the sports arena.
Many athletes believe that taking Viagra will help improve their performance in the field. And preliminary studies, showing a 40% performance improvement for cyclists taking Viagra, support this believe.
But experts aren’t convinced. They argue that even though Viagra works on the nitric oxide in the body and causes blood vessels to expand resulting in increased heart function and more oxygen in the lungs, it’s not a guarantee that it will improve an athlete’s performance.

In fact some doctors suggest that it’s actually Viagra’s more well-known effects on men’s sex lives that might be the reason for an athlete’s improved performance on the field. Here’s what Dr. Gerard Varlotta, director of sports rehabilitation at New York University’s Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, has to say …

“If athletes are euphoric after sex after taking Viagra, they may be euphoric about their athletic endeavors,” Varlotta said. “That may make them a better athlete.”

Meanwhile, the World Anti-Doping Agency ain’t happy. They are currently studying Viagra’s effects in athletes. If they decide that it is a performance inducing drug, they may look at banning Viagra. And that would be a performance in itself.

Now here’s a politician that really cares about his constituents. Gonzalo Navarette Munoz, mayor of a municipality near the Chilean capital Santiago, wants to improve the quality of life for the older people in the working class suburb of Lo Prado by handing out potency pills.

Jailhouse Menu – could this be the next new diet?

Do you believe this? An inmate in an Arkansas jail awaiting trial on a murder charge is suing the county jail for weight loss. Apparently he’s lost over 100 pounds in the last eight months because of the food he is being given. Now he only weighs 308 pounds. You’d think he’d be happy with the weight loss. Go figure…

Wanted: Women to eat chocolate for a year

Personally, I think the heading says it all. Just tell me where to sign up…

‘Pixie Dust’ From Pig’s Bladder Regrows Man’s Finger

Okay, so it’s not really ‘pixie dust’. The experimental powder that has helped a man’s severed finger regrow to its original length in just four weeks is really ‘extra-cellular matrix’ made from a dried pig’s bladder. But doesn’t ‘Pixie Dust’ sounds so much more magical. No matter what you call it, it seems to be working.

And finally…

Dinosaur Dung as a motivational tool ?
