T.G.I.F. (Link warning: obnoxious flash w/ sound) is now offering smaller correct food portions on their menu. At last, some restaurants are realizing we don’t all need platter-sized servings of food. All 600 members of T.G.I.F. Friday’s food chain now offer eight items on their “Right Portion, Right Price” menu. And we’re not talking diet food.
They include Asian-Glazed Chicken on Field Greens; Jack Daniel’s Chicken Alfredo; Cedar-Seared Salmon with Pasta; and Cajun Shrimp & Chicken Pasta. All come with a lower price than their grande brothers still available on the regular menu. This is good news for those of us who have embarrassed our friends by asking a waiter whether we can order from the child’s menu.
Consumers shouldn’t think of these as “small portions,” but rather normal-size portions. Keep in mind that you could feed an entire family in the Sudan with what’s on your normal meal platter.
