World’s Tallest Man and Shortest Man. Together. At Last.

Here are some human height statistics:
Something in the water? Plains Native Americans and North American descendants of Europeans were a lot taller than their 18th and 19th century Continental compadres.
But not anymore: Scandinavians are tall, but not as tall as people from the Dinaric Alps. The average Dinaric dude is 186 cm (about 6′1″).
The African Maasai are also some of the tallest folk in the world. Of late, however, the Maasai have become the unfortunate darlings of the snake oil circuit. Because every good scam needs the obligatory indigenous ancient culture to “prove” the amazing power of products like cellulite shoes and hoodia pills!
Inherent height difference among races, particularly when comparing Asians to Europeans, is stereotypical. The differences have far more to do with nutrition and health care access than race.
