The Man with the Tiny Brain

Teeny Tiny Brain

Doctors were shocked to find that a 44-year-old man is completely functional and normal despite possessing a tiny brain. His cranial cavity was filled with liquid, leaving only a shred of room for brain tissue – as much as 75% less than the average adult brain. Despite the brain damage, he is not retarded (though his I.Q. is 75, well below the average of 100).

The lesson? The brain is more plastic than we had assumed. Technically, a reduced brain size this extreme should not be compatible with life, say scientists.

Woah. Woah. Like. Woah. The average IQ is 100!?!?! And the tiny brain is odd, too :)
