Men, blue hair isn’t for the senior set any more, particularly if it belongs to the Playboy Bunny of your dreams, a woman wilder than you thought was possible. If you pick up the November issue of Playboy (available October 16, 2009), you’ll see her – Marge Simpson, in all her glory. Well, sort of.
Marge, as November’s cover girl, doesn’t show you quite everything; a few things are tastefully left to the imagination. She is also the subject of a three-page spread and an article titled, The Devil in Marge Simpson.
So, how does Marge Simpson measure up to Marilyn …read more
How’s Your Body Image and Self Esteem?
Ever wonder how complete strangers see you?
Want to find out ?
Then head over to Breaking the Mirror, a blog about eating disorders. Inspired by the reality television show ‘How to Look Good Naked’, they are looking for ‘24 guys and gals who want to love their bodies’.
What they want is for people to send in full length, fully clothed photos of themselves that will be posted on the blog on Valentine’s Day. The plan is to post one photo per hour for the whole 24 hours. Readers will then be encouraged to write comments about the person as they see …read more
Flickr houses Historic Medical Photographs.
I found this interesting post over at Medgadget…
“The National Museum of Health and Medicine has been uploading pictures to Flickr since September 2006. We’ve transcribed, of course, all information that we have for each picture, but have also been posting some for which we have relatively little information, such as Library of Congress is doing, with the hope that a Flickr user will recognize them and be able to tell us more.
We’ve been uploading the hard way, mostly one picture at a time, choosing from among the several hundred thousand we’ve been digitizing over the last three years. Until …read more
Blue Man Exposed
Next time you’re feeling a little blue, spare a thought for a man who has been really ‘blue’ for over a decade.
Yeah, I know what you’re thinking – it’s a gimmick and the guy really just wants to join the Blue Man Group. But no, it’s the real deal with a simple explanation.
Plagued by a bad case of dermatitis, Paul Karason started self-medicating with colloidal silver, a liquid made by extracting silver from metal. He both drank it and rubbed it on his face. And as a result, he ended up with a condition known as Argyria, an irreversible blue-gray …read more
Timeline: Family Snaps Photo at the Same Time Every Year Since 1976
Since 1976, every year on June 17th the Diego family has photographed themselves. the result is a voyeuristic look into one of the most personal and universal aspects of all of our lives: aging. This small image is 1983-1986. See the whole thing here: Diego Goldberg – The Arrow of Time.

What you see is what you get. Ah, yes the time honored non-spoken contract between consumer and business establishment. Well, maybe not quite as honored as we’d like to think. In fact, fast food joints have been doing the ol’ bait-and-switch bit on you for years, but you don’t care, do you?
A cry escapes your orange-stained lips, “B-b-but Arby’s sauce is so good!”
No! It’s crap, and you know it.
Fast food: Ads vs. Reality is an “ongoing Pulitzer caliber project” that’s delightfully voyeuristic, investigative, and kinda gross all at the same time:
Each item was purchased, taken home, and photographed …read more

For those of you who just waded through some of the filth in that last post: a cute-kitty palate cleanser.
The Bike that Will Never Be Stolen
Photo: random dude
This bike is going nowhere fast. Sort of like the 15 lb. spare tire around my waist. I don’t know if this was a practical joke or an art installation, but I love it the same, either way. If you look closely, you’ll see that you only need to break one lock to steal the bike. Making it a useful object again is another question.

This was a stunt by Act Up, sponsored by Benetton and without French government approval. The massive pink condom is 72 feet long.
GREEN Belgium’s goal is to give access to potable water to as many children as possible. For World Water Day, more than 500 of these Green Belgium stickers were stuck in washbasins in cinemas, pubs, restaurants, public toilets, universities and stations in nine Belgian cities and in Mexico City (where the 2006 World Water Forum was held)
