Marge, as November’s cover girl, doesn’t show you quite everything; a few things are tastefully left to the imagination. She is also the subject of a three-page spread and an article titled, The Devil in Marge Simpson.

So, how does Marge Simpson measure up to Marilyn Munroe? Up to now, only Homer knew, but her secrets will be unveiled for all.

The publishers of Playboy magazine are hoping that this playful approach will attract newer readers as their audience has been slipping. No longer is Playboy the only choice for young (and older men) to ogle beautiful women, not with the advent of the Internet and the multitude of photos available to all.

Let’s see if Marge has what it takes. After all, Marge isn’t all sunshine and roses. According to her biography on theSimpsons.com,

she also has secrets: She has been tempted to stray from her husband by a charming bowler and was nearly seduced into a life of crime by her one-time neighbor, Ruth Powers.

What they want is for people to send in full length, fully clothed photos of themselves that will be posted on the blog on Valentine’s Day. The plan is to post one photo per hour for the whole 24 hours. Readers will then be encouraged to write comments about the person as they see them. All comments will be moderated and only optimistic comments will be posted.

The goal – to encourage people by boosting their self esteem and self image, something that is often lacking in people suffering from eating disorders.

“The National Museum of Health and Medicine has been uploading pictures to Flickr since September 2006. We’ve transcribed, of course, all information that we have for each picture, but have also been posting some for which we have relatively little information, such as Library of Congress is doing, with the hope that a Flickr user will recognize them and be able to tell us more.

We’ve been uploading the hard way, mostly one picture at a time, choosing from among the several hundred thousand we’ve been digitizing over the last three years. Until that database goes live, this is our way of sharing our favorite photos from our many collections.So I had to head over and check it out. It’s a fascinating collection of medical images ranging from medical tools used in the Roman era to surgery in the Vietnam War. “

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking – it’s a gimmick and the guy really just wants to join the Blue Man Group. But no, it’s the real deal with a simple explanation.

Plagued by a bad case of dermatitis, Paul Karason started self-medicating with colloidal silver, a liquid made by extracting silver from metal. He both drank it and rubbed it on his face. And as a result, he ended up with a condition known as Argyria, an irreversible blue-gray discoloration of skin, gums, and nails.

This treatment, by the way, is not recommended by the FDA. In fact, they consider it neither safe nor effective for any disease. Besides turning blue, taking colloidal silver can result in other more serious side effects such as seizures, neurological problems, kidney damage, headaches, fatique, and indigestion.

That’s enough to discourage most people, but Paul is continuing to drink the colloidal silver solution. He’s just not rubbing it onto his face anymore.
