Sexbolt Saturday: Sex Ed, Cartoon Style

Some of us are of the age where we remember being taken from the class, girls to one area and boys to another, for our annual sex education class. The teacher would rather be doing anything but talking to us about reproduction because, let’s face it, most of us weren’t exactly in receptive moods for that.
While sex ed has changed a lot over the years, it seems to me that Denmark is way ahead if this YouTube video is any indication. It’s a cartoon but quite graphic, so I’m giving you a warning. It’s not for someone who is uncomfortable …read more
Sexbolt Sat: Call a “Sex Organ” What It Is

What is it with the cutesy names or the “anything but the real name” issues we have in our society? From news pieces headlined that a woman cut off her lovers “sex organ” to little girls being told to call their vaginas their “ta-tas,” or whatever cutesy name – it really makes me wonder how advanced we really are.
For the record, penis, testicles, vagina, breasts – heck, even clitoris – are all words that mean something about the human body. Hoo-hoos, boobies, weiner, hose, snake, front bum or whatever you want to make up, are not.

Sexbolt Saturday: Condom Negotiation

When it comes to dirty jokes and crude movies, we don’t seem to have much problems talking about sex in today’s world. But what about when it becomes between just you and him? Just the two of you and your new relationship. How easy is it to talk about sex then? Easy enough to talk about condoms? It’s surprising how often the answer is “no.”
Both men and women know how important condoms are. Being on the Pill will prevent pregnancy, but it won’t prevent the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like chlamydia or HIV. The only thing that will …read more
237 Reasons for Sex (Book) – Sexbolt Sat.

There are 237 reasons why women have sex, say University of Texas psychologists Cindy Meston and David Buss. The pair wrote a book in 2007 about sex and humans, but in this book, Why Women Have Sex – Understanding Sexual Motivations from Adventure to Revenge (and Everything in Between), they focused on what made women want to have sex and the sexual psychology.
I’ve not reviewed the book, but Time Magazine interviewed Meston and Buss. In the published Q&A Why Women Have Sex, they discuss turn-ons and turn-offs, surprising reasons to have sex (because they have a headache), sexual economics, and …read more
Screaming During Sex May Hurt Other Person

Passion may be loud, but if you’re a screamer, you may want to be sure your door is locked tight. This past July, a group of teens in Connecticut, United States, heard a woman who they thought was being assaulted, so they felt they had to rescue her.
Four teens, called by a teenage girl who lives in the same home as the woman, burst into the room and a couple of them beat up the man badly enough to require medical attention. However, it seems that he wasn’t assaulting the woman, they were just having sex.
Now, while they did end …read more

Great news for guys with erectile dysfunction, especially those who get little to no benefit from Viagra. There is new hope on the horizon - rotten eggs. Seems a new study by Italian researchers have determined that hydrogen sulphide, the gas arising from rotten eggs, encourages arousal in men. Apparently minute amounts of this gas released by key nerve cells during arousal helps control and sustain an erection.
According to researcher Professor Cirino, of the University of Naples Federico II in Italy, this discovery should make it possible “…in future to develop drugs that either deliver hydrogen sulphide or that control …read more

Did you know that in the United States alone, there are 19 million new sexually transmitted disease (STD) cases diagnosed each year?
Scary numbers.
But most people will look at those numbers and say, ‘yeah, but that won’t happen to me. I’m safe. My behavior is not risky.”
Unfortunately, it could easily happen to you. All it really takes to get a sexually transmitted disease is one instance of unprotected sex.
Which is why I suggest that anyone who is sexually active or intending to become sexually active read Seductive Delusions: How Everyday People Catch STD’s by Jill Grimes MD.
