Seeing open heart surgery is always stirring. Seeing what they’ve been able to do within the span of a decade or so is truly remarkable.

This video with Alan Russel is just one of dozens of excellent TED talks at TED.com. Another worth noting is an Aubrey de Grey talk on Why we age and how we can avoid it. Check my TED link and find it.
