4 Metal Heads

One of the best books I’ve ever bought for jewelry making was really the very first of many books. I was taking my first real jewelry making classes at my local adult ed center, and the teacher required that we each get a copy of Complete Metalsmith, Professional Edition. Actually back then, there was no “professional edition.” There was just the regular paper back edition of The Complete Metalsmith: An Illustrated Handbook
.
This was before the days of Amazon.com (yes, B.A.) or even any large book chain stores like we have now, so I had to special order it through at a small jewelry store.
Now, of course, Tim McCreight’s books are all over the place including Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I’ve graduated to the pro edition, but the old one is still in our workshop while the fancy new one stays near my desk for when I’m writing because it is a great resource for any sort of metal or wire jewelry. If you plan to do either, buy the book.
