A Jewelry Project Runway?

I just noticed that Tammy posted about this idea last year…I still think it’s a really good idea
What do you think? Should there be a separate Project Runway for jewelry designers, or should they be included in the regular show?

a separate one yay!!
Wouldn’t that be fun? Maybe we should have our own JPR when this current season is over. I could host it here on the blog…and we could have weekly challenges and polls for voting
Definitely a Separate one, and I should be in the competition!
Next week, Tucson, here I come (with camera and notebook)
MAry
Will you be in the competition if we have a mock one here on Jewelry & Beading? I’m sure I could get prizes for it.
I’m afraid I am not much of a designer (I’m a photographer) but my neighbor, she is really good. I can get her to participate!!!! yay!!!
I really think we need to do this. We can each show maybe three work-in-progress shots and a final shot of the finished piece, and then have a poll for judging
Its actually a pretty good idea - if we don’t have to model our work… I am not runway material. I have often looked for inspirational sites on the net - and cruise jewelry sites (I have a difficult time finding the kind of sites I want to look at … fine jewelry bores me.).. I don’t know about you all but I look through magazines, books & catalogs for what I like - ideas in color, problem solving in design, fashion ideas (what’s popular.) and basic style challenges ( what do other people do with stone donuts? What colors seem to go with Hematite? sort of thing)… I gather catalog pics and past them in a book… when I want to create something I look back at it all and choose - I never follow a book/design exactly, I use it as a starting point. I also do a lot of experimenting - starting with a problem and then try things of my own until I get what I like Seeing other people’s work stimulates my own creativity and makes me think about what is possible.
Oh heck no! We don’t have to model it ourselves
LOL!!
I keep an inspiration folder too. Sometimes when I need a kick start, I just leaf through it until an idea starts to form.
