When I first heard of Baylie and her bracelets, I got on her website and went ahead and ordered myself one. Later on, I found out the poor girl and her mother hand thousands and thousands of these things to make! If I had known that, I would have just donated the $5 to them.As most of you know, though, I have been making bracelets for them, as have other jewelry makers, many from my Jewelry Making Forum at About.com. All of this started with ordering one bracelet, however. So, I had totally forgotten that I ordered one until I got this cute beaded blue elastic bracelet in the mail the other day. It also included a little card with the following poem:
that will help fund research for Chiari malformation
My hope is that every time you look at your wrist
that you will put me and my friends on your prayer list
We have something wrong with our brains,
and so we are always in pain
So until our doctors find a cure
many surgeries we will have to endure
Needless to say, Im ordering more blue beads for some more bracelets!

Tammy, this is great!
I can totally make three or four braceletts to help out, even if I’m busy.
Thanks for letting me know about this!
Hi Krissy! I’ve been blabbing about this all over the net
Glad to hear you don’t mind pitching in. There are so many bracelet causes these days, but this little girl just tugs at your heart strings, doesn’t she?!
She does. And at 5,000+ braceletts I’d say she’s filling a niche, eh?
Oh, yeah, her niche is like the Grand Canyon!
