Jewelry and Beading

Bead Journal Project: June

I’ve started on the last season of my BJP pieces!   Three full seasons are complete, and now I’ve got the first one for the summer group (June, July, and August) finished.  Yay!

Each month, I’m choosing a fragment of scripture from one of the Psalms and using a heart shape to create a little 4 x 4 inch beaded piece that illustrates the feeling of that verse for me. Here is my piece for June:

I sing for joy at the works of Your hands

Here are the three completed sets: Autumn, Winter, and Spring

I’m really in awe of your bead journal project. Not only because your pieces are gorgeous and such a nice touch incorporating psalms, but also because you consistently pull it off. There are so many things we are distracted by, this is very cool! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Lisa! That’s such a nice compliment…it can be hard to stay focused on something for a long period of time, but I found the BJP last year (when I did fairly elaborate pieces) was a really worthwhile exercise.

One thing that helped me keep going this year was to cut out all the pieces right away so I could simply pick them up and start stitching with no preliminary set up :-)
