Jewelry and Beading

Bead Journal Project: March

Each month, I’m choosing a fragment of scripture from one of the Psalms and using a heart shape to create a little 4 x 4 inch beaded piece that illustrates the feeling of that verse for me. Here is my piece for March:

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask…that I may dwell in the house of the LORD

There’s always room for more. Always.

  1. Paul says:

Why is there one bead outside the heart? Is that the questioner not in the house (heart) of the Lord?

I think it’s really more that he doesn’t yet *know* he’s in God’s heart…but I couldn’t think of any clever way to symbolize that! :-)

I was also thinking about the loneliness that we all feel sometimes. This piece may not be theologically completely accurate, but it accurately reflects my feelings of sometimes being on the outside looking in, and longing to be there.

Cyndi, I just discovered your blog, and your moon journal project from last year.

I wrote a full-moon poem every month last year. Your journals are so wonderful, and brought that exercise back to me. If you are interested, you can find my poems in the category “Moon Poems” at Watermark.

If I had found you sooner, I would have asked your permission to post photos of your work with my poems, or at least linked to each one, each month.

    Such gorgeous work!

Oh how wonderful! I’m going to go and read your poems now…I found the full moons to be such an inspirational way to look at the year. You probably chose a few different names for some of the months than I did, since there are several to chose from in most cases :-)

Cyndi — Are you on Twitter? I’d like to follow you if so (couldn’t find you with a search) — I’m @bookmarkand, sbpoet.

Cyndi, I have been running in circles trying to figure out how to get your feed to my new email account. The old one was the feed from your LayersUponLayers, but that is no longer. can you help? I don’t want to miss anything! Love your blogs.
