Bead Taxes Almost Done

You can stick a fork in me - okay - well almost stick a fork in me because I’m done putting all my receipts together for our accountant. One thing I didn’t mention the other day when I was moaning about working on my taxes for my beading/writing work was that you can find many of the tax forms on-line at the IRS’s website: www.irs.gov
This is handy if you have a jewelry business because you’ll need a copy of the schedule C to figure out what you can deduct. I use this to organize my receipts, and anything I’m not sure about, I set aside and have my accountant figure it out. But, I try to do as much upfront work as I can because she pretty much charges like a lawyer, the more time she uses on you the more money it costs you, which is understandable.

Thanks for the tax info, Tammy. I just started “doing stuff” with my jewelry last year. My husband and I have been dreading working on our already complicated taxes this year because of it. You helped start us in the right direction!
We finally went to an accountant for the first time last year and it was well worth the expense. If nothing else, we had a few less arguments this year!!
