Bead Your Own Flowers

Spring is in the air! Down here in Florida, that means it’s getting warmer (ugh) but the snow-birds are flying back up North (yeah!).
If you are ready for Spring but nature is still not ready to start blooming around you yet, try making your own flowers with my Spring Fling Flower project. It incorporates brick stitch and wire to create a really simple beaded flower.
You can leave these flowers as is and just create a number of them in different colors of beads and pop them in a vase to display, or try including them in a piece of jewelry such as a pin, bracelet, or the center piece for a necklace.

after your thoughtless comment about snowbirds, I will never visit your site again
Peggy – Rather than just delete your post and dismiss your comment, I felt I need to defend myself a little. Yes, I’m happy that the snow-birds are going back to their homes and that we will have 1/2 as much traffic and 1/2 as much time to wait in lines and 1/2 as many people down here for a few months. I don’t have anything personally against them, but considering my taxes pay for the roads and many other things they use, I think it’s okay for me to be happy when they leave for a few months, just as I’m sure they are happy to be away from the heat and humidity that those who live down here year round have to deal with.
Your project is up at the Springtime! showcase

Wow – I love your beautiful beaded flowers and other jewelry! Reminds me of when I was a kid, I tried my hand at making beaded flowers. They came out looking more like insects than flowers!
