Chandelier Earrings Future?

June 9, 2007 by Tammy Powley

In this article, “Are Chandeliers Collecting Dust?,” I consider the future of this earring design and offer up a number of earring projects to try as well.

I felt like this fit in with my whole June wedding theme since chandelier earrings are perfect for pearls and can add an extra bit of elegance to any bride.

What about you? Do you find yourself making chandelier earrings that much any more? Are they in or out?

I’m a people-watcher, and it seems to me I’m not seeing chandelier earrings as much anymore. Ear threads and extra long hooks seem to be popping up everywhere, along with geometric hoops in funky shapes. I was recently married, and while I went with simple pearl studs and a venetian glass pendant (my dress was scattered with beads & rhinestones.I didn’t want to overdo it.) a lot of brides are still going the vintage inspired chandelier-earring route.
I’m probably in the minority here, but I’ve never made chandelier earrings!

I think there will always be a time and place for chandelier earrings, but as a trend they are on the ebb not the flow.

I think there will always be a place for Chandelier earrings, the type of beads used on them and the colors will change with the trends but I think they really have always been “around” maybe not as popular as they got and it may slow down a bit, but in Atlanta I still see them.
