Jewelry and Beading

Chevron Flower Bracelet Project

flr-bead-brace.jpgBead & Button has a new bracelet project with a free downloadable pdf file available. Pictured is the Dress Up Chevron Chain with Flowers designed by Yvanne Ham.

While this bracelet looks like it is loaded with details, I have found chevron to be one of the easiest of bead weaving stitches to learn. So, don’t be put off by it’s detail and use of lots of colorful beads.

Very easy until the turn. the first complete flower works well, but the next half flower on the turn doesn’t seem to be directly above the other one. I’ve made it in 3mm crystals, Turquoise and silver, very dainty. I will try again to get the half flower in place

Hello flower chevron chain makers. Several people have written to me with “turn” issues. My suggestion would be to make a much larger color copy of the pattern graphic – maybe at a copy store? Then follow it step by step. My experience has been that patterns printed in magazines are sometimes hard to understand because of space and sizing issues. Also I hope you noticed that there are shared beads between the first and the second sides. The colors at the point you turn are determined by following the already established colors from side one – creating whole “flowers” in the center and half “flowers” at both side edges.

I hope this helps a little. Feel free to let me know how this works for you!!!
Thanks for trying my design! Regards, Yvanne Ham

      Hi Yvanne,
I was looking for information to see if you are still doing any of the local markets during the summer months. I have bought several of your BEAUTIFUL pieces (I love the beaded bracelet I have on right now).
      Thanks,
      Anne Spennachio

    Hi Yvanne Ham,

I tried to go to the link but they are charging $3.95 whereas you said its for free to download. Appreciate if you could let me know the link to download.

    Thanks
    Lata

That is the correct link. It was free initially, but now they are charging for it. This post is from back in April 2007 :-)

Hi there, There is a reproduction of the magazine article at a website from Chile. Perhaps it is illegal to copy the entire article thus. But until it is “discovered” – oh well. Copy and paste both lines of the following URL. Good luck, Yvanne

I’m trying to find 4mm smooth round glass beads, online and I can’t seem to find the right ones for this project. I love this bracelet. Do you have any sugestions where I could buy them online? Thanks for the bracelet idea, Donna

  12. Cyndi says:

Sometimes they’re called “druks”, and you can find them in almost all the large catalogs, both online and off. http://www.firemountaingems.com http://www.rings-things.com etc
