Jewelry and Beading

I’m so proud of my daughter!

Not only did she make me a killer pair of elf ears, but wait till you see her own costume! She and her buds went to Salem for Halloween day (yes, Salem Massachusetts), but were smart enough to be back to campus before sunset :-)

She wrote to me that she even got photographed by the Boston Globe and made the evening news on our ABC affiliate! Here’s the link if you want to see it. You have to watch a stupid commercial first, but it’s short. Dani is the angel of death who immediately follows the Police Chief near the beginning of the clip.

She wrote to me: “How’d your halloween go? Mine was fantastic. I was a hit in Salem. I was photographed by Boston Globe, and look, I even made channel 5 news!! (although apparently according to them I don’t think Halloween is a family event, hahah)”

Here’s a couple shots that her friends took:

Her costume rocks! I’m just glad I didn’t see her walking down MY street. I’d have been under the bed in a flash! Scaaaary!

  2. Sue says:

Cool costume! And what an adorable pair of elf ears. I am jealous I don’t have some cute ears like those.

  3. Cyndi says:

Totally scary, Jill…but she’s the sweetest girl in the world, so it’s really pretty funny!

Sue, I wish I still had them! Unfortunately, they were one use only because of the material :-(

  4. Nick says:

This costume rocks, seriously – one of a kind! I’m so jealous now that I think about the one I made for myself! Can I ask what the wings are made out of??

  5. Cyndi says:

Well, they’re on a frame of some sort (they’re mechanical), and the constructed feathers are from some sort of polyester satin, kind of thick. I don’t know what she used for the shaft of the feathers. Some of the smaller feathers are real feathers. They’re all stitched together somehow.

    Gee, I’m a lot of help, aren’t I? :-)

  6. Nick says:

Well still that is so impressive! She needs to think of another excuse to wear them :)

  7. Cyndi says:

Oh, I’m pretty certain she will ;-)
