Jewelry Maker Turns Super Model

I was joking a few posts back about how jewelry designers can be compared to super models (see “Making Sour Beads Into Lemonade“). Now, I have to eat my words so to speak because I’m finally getting some promotional photographs taken of myself this weekend.
My sister is fairly good with a camera, so I’m going to have her take a ton of pictures in the hopes that I get a few that look half-way decent. I even went out (per her instructions) and purchased eye-liner and mascara, which I don’t think I’ve worn for almost 20 years!
Ugh! I’d almost rather get a tooth pulled than get my picture taken, but it’s got to be done!
The reason I’m blogging about this is because it got me to thinking how important having an “image” is for anyone that wants a public sort of career. Sure, I’m not going to jogging down the Victoria Secret runway any time soon, but still, I do get asked for my photograph on occasion for publicity purposes and I detest the one I have now.
Public image, in fact, is something I’m working on this year – aka “branding” – look for more of my babbling about this in future posts.
