my husband and I lit candles for the WINTER SOLSTICE and said a MEDITATION was to cold to go outside to our ALTAR.
*Way* too cold, Sharon! My husband and daughter took off to go skiing today, and I said thank you but NO
I was wondering if I would get a comment on what I said. Thanks Its not bad now The TEMPERATURE is going up gonna be in the 30’s tomorrow even higher the next few days.
Cyndi – oh, happy happy Hanukkah ! May the light of love ever shine and light our ways !
Joy, joy, joy, joy ! the light does not go out, that is the promise. KM –
Its freezing cold here… think it got a little warmer at noon, but not much – maybe, right at 32 – got as low as the teens last week. We think we got about 10 inches, total – might be nearly 12… a friend claimed it was 24 down in the valley. They are speaking of more snow or rain, or freezing rain and ice or, well, whatever.
I helped Leon shovel the snow from the walks and the drive way and we helped an oriental family near-by get their car moved. We both wondered how high the language barrier (afterwards) really was and if they understood that Leon gave them advice on how to get the car up the drive way… ! I wished them a Merry Christmas but realized they might be Buddhists. Sigh… LOL – Love this neighborhood, really do, language barriers and all ! They had never said hi and we thought them unsocial but realized they may be shy and well, the language barriers and all…
Why do young people always act so surprised when they get help from Middle Aged Americans?Has the help gene been depleted in this country?
Unfortunately, I think neighborliness in general has just plain declined all over our country. It’s too bad, but I don’t want to start even thinking about the reasons, because this is the season of joy!
Perhaps so, but ’tis sad.. Leon and I tend towards about a bit of awkwardness among others but if someone comes and asks for a shovel we will give them a hand (-:
– our spontaneous response is to help. And yes,let not us not meditate on sorrowful things – Light, love, hope, joy and the new year. Sorrow can come later, if it must.
I should do something – wash dishes, sew, bead, knit, do something …is anyone else having trouble with motivation, right now.. its been cold, really cold for nearly 2 weeks.
