Thanks, L! Those are great tips. I've seen lots of commercials for all three of those shows, and had noticed that Boston Legal is amazing for fashion and jewelry. Isn't it interesting too, and not surprising that Project Runway chose Lipstick Jungle to feature in one of the challenges!

I've seen commercials for Mad Men, and just can't get myself to watch it...but I'll agree with you that those terrific older fashions were just great, especially with the matching jewelry sets :-)

I have read your blog for years and follow the posts about Project Runway and other shows when they highlight beaded jewelry in their fashions. I wanted to alert you to the gorgeous beaded necklaces and bracelets that can be seen on Boston Legal. Candis Bergman is the one to watch. Her character often wears big bold gorgeous beaded necklaces to highlight her elegant business attire. I love to see what she is going to wear next! Other shows that I love to keep an eye out for beaded jewelry are Lipstick Jungle and Mad Men. :)

Wow, I so think Leanne's collection, though technically perfect, was too monochromatic and similar. I was very pleasantly surprised that Korto's collection was so beautiful and diverse, yet all hers. And Kenley? If she had been a reasonable person instead of burning bridges and being a b***h, she would have won it all!
And I loved the bead work Korto did. Made all us bead junkies smile!

I think the fan fave turned out to be Kellie, who won the first challenge. Not sure if there was any money involved though.

I was sort of sad about the lack of a reunion show...that's where so much drama gets played out :-) Maybe later?

I thought Leanne's blue evening gown was stunning. I did get a little weary of the petal thing she had going on, but the line was beautiful. I loved Korto's line, especially the green halter dress. I really was rooting for her - she was my first choice to win. While I didn't like Kenley I actually did like her collection for the most part - including the knock-offs. I loved that Tim thought she needed a "fashion history" class. And did you think Heidi was a little short when she said, "Kenley, you're out"? I thought so - and I literally laughed out loud. Did you notice no reunion show and no $10K for the fan favorite? Wonder if it would've been "love your face/holla at your boy" Blaine? He cracked me up.

I can see why you'd feel that way about the colors, especially because of where you live (lucky you!). They really appealed to me, but I can definitely see your point. If someone claimed that autumn in New England was their inspiration and then only used brown, yellow and orange, I'd be kind of ripping :-)

I have to say I was really disappointed that Leanne won. Yes, the garments were well made and beautiful, but also boring. I live on the Puget Sound (150 miles straight north of Portland OR) and I know there are more colors she could have used. There is more than just white, beige and turquoise - why not some of the gorgeous deep blues and green-blues of the water, or the fiery reds, oranges and golds from the amazing sunsets as the sun dips below the horizon. Not to mention, all the pieces looked a lot alike.

I loved Korto and Kenley's collections - they were colorful and fun. I loved all the hand-painting in Kenley's designs (except for the 'knock-off' dress). And the bead work in Korto's designs was amazing. I think either of them should have won just for keeping some diversity in a cohesive line, for using fun colors and their innovative designs.

My husband agrees with Sally! Although he didn't really like her color palette, he prefered Korto's designs. And of course I was drooling all over myself about the jewels :-)

I really thought Leanne's collection was wonderful though. Loved the colors, the shapes, and the precision of it all.

Leanne is indeed a sweetie but to me she is a one trick pony and i was already tired of petals. I much more liked Korto's collection-loved the color and the jewels.
