Diane Von Furstenberg
Oh, the divine Ms Von Furstenberg! What a great challenge (finally) for the remaining designers. I felt a bit like Kenley…it almost made me tear up to think about this opportunity that they were getting. And for her to allow them free access (well, up to 10 yards, anyway) to any of her magnificent fabrics! It was hard to fathom why some of them (Suede, for example) picked what they did, and then wouldn’t even listen to Tim’s advice.
Spoilers ahead…don’t click unless you want to know the results of the challenge!

Stella
Suede wasn’t the only one who didn’t listen. Oh Stella! You were so much fun, and it was apparent immediately how much the others liked you by the tears that flowed when you were auffed. You annoyed me so much in the beginning, but you slowly grew on me, and I will really miss you!

Leanne
Congratulations to Leanne, for her second win! I loved loved loved the back of her dress. Not too crazy about the jacket, but it certainly did capture the Berlin/spy/40s feel. My favorite this time was Korto’s dress. I loved the little pops of color, and the jacket was much more to my liking.

Korto
So, which were your faves? And who do you think shoulda gone home?

Bye, Stella {sniff}

I am glad that Stella was auf’d, other than Blayne, I really did not understand what she was doing there. Her attitude from the beginning was anything but pretty. I too felt like Kennely, and wanted tear up. I love miss Von Furstenberg. I would die to own anything that she created. I was surprised by Kennley and Heidi’s interaction on the runway, and even more surprised that Heidi’s entourage did not back her up. She seemed to be really disappointed in Kennely only doing one item, and I sort of agree with her. Well made is important, but I do not think her her dress was so intricate that she did not have time to whip a jacket or something. What was funny was Joe gagging over her jacket when his was clearly a disaster. He had some good ideas but just was not executed well.
P.S. What was with Blayne’s pants. I felt like his model was about to take flight. 1940’s? Definitely, especially if she was the Lindenberg!!!
Leanne was the clear winner, that jacket was totally cute, and maybe a tad sloppy against the dress, none-the-less a fab outfit. I wish I had an occasion to wear it to. Koto, although one of of my favorites amongst the designers, did not seem to impress me much. I liked her ideas, black/white/ and a pop of bright yellow; is so chic. I just did not care for how the outfit came together. It wasn’t bad, but I think Tim was right, it looked like bra srtaps sticking out.
Oh, I am definitely with you on Blayne. He’s fun, but he’s the next one auf unless there is some real disaster for one of the others.
About the jacket being sloppy…I found out over on the Bravo site that none of the designers had interfacing to work with! It just wasn’t available this time through some odd quirks of fate. I think some well-placed interfacing would have changed my opinion of Leanne’s jacket completely. I still liked Korto’s overall outfit better, but that’s mainly because of the jacket. So, I think you’re right!
So Cyndi,
Who do you think will end up at Bryant Park. Who do you want to see there and win.
My Picks for Bryant Park: Terri, Korto, Leanne and by some weird twist of fate, Blayne will squeak thru. I think 4 will be there.
Any of those first three I would like to win. I do however want to see Terri present a little something more than just pants. Although she makes them really well.
Oh gee…I’m so terrible at predicting. First season, Jay was a total surprise, especially since he’d never won an individual challenge before. Last season, I had picked Jillian, so you can see that my skills are quite limited in this respect!
I agree that 4 will be there, or possibly 5. I’m going to guess Terri, Korto, Leanne, Suede, and Jerell. The last two will be decoys. Any one of the first three could win, but I’m leaning towards Leanne or Terri.
Terri’s fixation with pants doesn’t bother me too much, because they are usually not the main point of the outfit…they’re more like a pedestal. She does vary the construction each time, and they are always impeccable. It seems to bug the other designers though.
