Jewelry and Beading

Purple & blue V-pendant necklace

Make Art Monday!

v-pendant-necklace.jpg

This is a beaded necklace that I made from a V-pendant by one of my friends, Jeanne Kent of New Terra Artifacts. The fused glass piece is just stuffed full of dichroic glass…I am sorry that I can’t capture the true beauty of this pendant…the color shifts and dept. Tomorrow I’ll run down the simple instructions to put it together!

What a Orginial Idea mixing the two different types of bead work together. Very nice Colors from the Dichoric glass. Im curious how did she keep it all hot at the same time so it melts evenly? I’ve never worked with dichroic glass yet. Just lampworking right now.

I haven’t done a lot of fusing, Debbie, but one thing is that it’s done in a kiln rather than by torch, so the heating tends to be more even. One of the tricky things, as you probably already know from lampworking, is that all the glass has to be compatible types, or else…BANG!! Or *CRACK*
    LOL! :-)
