A fabulous tip came in from Teri today!
Artist: Teri Landow
My favorite tool is most definitely my nonstick cookie sheets. They are SO versatile!
For beading: I put a beading mat in, the lip holds beads in, and keeps tools close at hand.
For Art Clay Silver: I use two. One for actually working with the clay, and another one for speed drying in my oven. (Transferring can be tricky, if the piece is delicate, but patience is a good thing…)
For tumbling jewelry: After I send pieces through the tumbler, I sometimes have trouble finding all the tiny little pieces I have made. I spread a thin towel out in the cookie sheet, dump the shot into the pan after draining it, and then I can sort through to find everything I need to.
For polymer clay: Nonstick surface and they can go right into the oven when the piece is ready for firing.
They also stack relatively easily, so they remain compact when not in use, and I can also stack several beading projects at once.
The list is actually endless.

Sounds like a really good idea, I may need to go get a couple. I usually use a lacquered black tray with a felt bead board inside to catch anything that may get knocked off the bead board. Haven’t tried the Art Clay Silver yet but I keep thinking about it.
I will warn you something out Art Clay Silver…. It’s highly addictive once you start playing with it! I just wish I had the time to play with it as much as I want to, but being the mother of identical twin 2 year old boys…. Well, time is not always my friend.
