Jewelry and Beading

Rings & Things…”Polly’s Pick” award!

I can’t remember if I showed you this bracelet earlier or not.  I made it using one of the many available bracelet blanks from Rings & Things.  And some finds from Home Depot!  I called it Always Time for Cats.

I just received word yesterday that my design was one of Polly’s Picks.  Polly is the catalog editor, and each year she gets to chose some pieces that she likes but that were not official award winners in the Your Designs Rock contest.  It’s official enough for me!  Thank you, Polly.  You can read more about my design at Rings & Things, and you can also see all the winners!

Great bracelet, and it gives me a whole slew of ideas for using that stack of bracelet blanks I bought from R-T a whoe long time ago! Tell me, how did you construct the frames around the cats? Are the cats inside of watch cases, which you then embellished, or are they embellished rings around the cats, like picture frames?

Either way, I presume that the cats are on the gluable surfaces of the bracelets, with the watch pieces filling in the space between. Does this make the bracelet difficult to wear? I am also thinking about using a Right Angle Weave beaded base to embellish, simply because there are so many more attachment points, and because RAW is so flexible. Any thoughts?

Both the watch parts and the cats are on the gluable surfaces, not on in-between links, so the bracelet is very wearable. The cats are inside of closet slide hardware!
