Selling jewelry on Etsy

Recently, I did a google search to see if I could round up some advice from the trenches, as it were, on selling through Etsy. It used to be that eBay was the only game in town, but Etsy continues to garner more attention as it evolves. I often enjoy scanning through Etsy to see if I can find makers of the unique who will be willing to do an artist profile for us. It’s certainly a great place to do trend research and to just find cool new stuff. But how is it for selling?
Well, it’s better for selling if you know what you’re doing and don’t try to reinvent the wheel! So here are some well-thought out articles, written by those who should know!
Review of Etsy: setting up an Etsy shop
Selling handmade jewelry on Etsy

Thanks for the wonderful info. Loved the interview with Ryan on the podcast. This just may be the boost I need to enter the wild wonderful world of online selling.
EXCELLENT, Susan! Etsy is an great low-risk way to try it out
Ha, great minds thinks alike! I just posted something similar on my blog the other day!
I am loving looking at artists on Etsy. I think it’s a great way to sell and the site is much more interesting and aesthetically pleasing than eBay!
I love Etsy, it’ given me the opportunity to do what I love, and free me up for the other things that’s important to me in life. I’m still trying to reach more customers, and increase my sales. I have three shops that have gotten sales. But there’s always room for improvement. especially with the increasing number of sellers. I think Etsy should add a few more ways to promote traffic to our shops for people who don’t even know about Etsy. They should do more advertising them selves.
I find a lot of the fabulous artists that I profile on Etsy. PK, you should be one of them
Hey, just let me know what to do. Thanks for offering.

Hi, Cyndi,
Great article! I do enjoy etsy. However I wish they would advertise to the mainstream market as well as the handmade niche. But other than that, I love everything about Etsy.
I have a free craft marketing network (www.FreeCraftMarketing.ning.com ), and I am always scavenging for great articles to post there so that my members have as much free information as possible regarding marketing their handmade wares. Thanks for your informative article. I hope you don’t mind if I link to you?
Thanks,
Serena

I opened my store this year on etsy—-not going gang-busters yet, but at least I’m not out of pocket all those ebay fees without sales!!!! Etsy is great for us that want to cater to customers who don’t want the run of the mill, cookie cutter items sold on ebay! I love it!
Good for you, Teri! It’s such a good idea to keep your costs as low as possible until you get going. Even then…
I must admit I am addicted to Etsy. I join to Etsy on 2005 but only on september 2007 decided to sell and start listed items. I love this site, so easy to use as buyer or seller, I am recommending !
