Jewelry and Beading

Social networking for jewelry sales

Now that we’re all starting to get more familiar with social media sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and the rest, I thought I’d share a list with you of some specialized sites for those who are interested in fashion.  Any of these sites can become a part of your marketing strategy if you’re interested in selling your jewelry.

Now honestly, I haven’t used any of these listed below except for StyleHive, Kaboodle, and ThisNext.  I really spend most of my time in forums devoted to beading and jewelry education, and I haven’t even used my Facebook account for business…just to keep track of all the teens in my life!  But I thought that those of you who are on more on the path of marketing yourselves and selling your wares might find this list handy.  It’s in alphabetical order, with no attempt to recommend one over the other.  Anyone with experience with any of these is welcome to chime in below  :-)

I’ve only be dabbling with this. I’ve got some jewelry making supplies and a few finished pieces in my Etsy store, and I now and then put up a link to pieces, especially when items are listed. But, I have no real evidence that it makes any difference. It would be interesting to hear from jewelry designers who have aggressively pursued this as a marketing tool.

  2. Hi Cyndi,
    Thanks for these great tips!
I think that you can be very surprise to see how you can find possible clients on these sites.
If you have an email with google you can open an account in this site http://www.google.com/analytics , this service is free and what it can do for you is that you can see who is visiting your site, how long they stay in there and how many pages of your site they visit. You can know where is the traffic of your site coming from.
Thanks for your info Cyndi ;-}.

Great idea Lorena, thank you! I use sitemeter.com which is also free. I don’t know if one is better than the other, but anyone who is trying to make sales should definitely have some type of traffic monitor on their site :-)
