Finally a Pearl Bracelet

I realized I was sort of on a pearl earring trend there for awhile, so here’s something a little different but still in the pearl theme I’m doing this month: a Woven Pearl Bracelet project.

Since making my first one of these, I’ve made a number of them, sold them, given them as gifts, etc. A nice extra touch is to add a charm to the jump ring at the end that attaches to the spring ring clasp. It helps to keep the bracelet balance to that the clasp stays under the wrist, and it looks nice too.

June is Wedding Jewelry Time

Here we are! It’s June already. When I think of June, I think of two things: weddings and hurricanes. Since weddings are much more fun, I’ve decided to go wedding jewelry crazy this next month here at my jewelry and beading blog and celebrate wedding jewelry.

I’m starting out this month-long wedding jewelry theme with, what else, but a simple pearl bracelet. I call this my Big Pearl Bracelet project. It is a pretty simple project. Plus, if you are getting married or know someone who is and need lots of bracelets for those in the wedding party, this would be the perfect, esay to make, solution.

Venice Jewelry Set

What is more romantic than taking a trip to Venice, Italy? A close second is making some jewelry using gorgeous Venetian glass beads.

These earrings are from my project: From Venice With Love Earrings.

I made these earrings to match this bracelet, also called From Venice With Love Bracelet.

I could go on and on about the quality of these glass beads. There’s just nothing like Italian glass!

Adjustable Necklace & Heart Bracelet

To go with my little friend’s Prom Queen Earrings, I of course had to make her a matching bracelet and necklace, which is adjustable.

The bracelet includes some of the same supplies, pearls and crystals and hematite hearts, and I strung these on wire and attached them with a wrapped loop. The little heart dangle was just an additional touch.

I wanted to give her some options as to how to wear the necklace, so I made it adjustable. She could wear it as a sort of Y necklace design, as pictured, or she could flip it around and wear it as a choker with the tail of the necklace trailing down her back, or finally, she could just hook the clasp onto the very end of the beadn and wire chain and wear it as a long single strand.

Introduction: Nail Tech Secrets

I know…I know….I can’t really say that jewelry makers and beaders are well-known for their nails! I pretty much gave up on mine years ago, but some of that is really because I’m lazy, not necessarily due to making jewelry. So, getting the low-down on nail care isn’t such a bad idea, especially when it comes from this great blog called Nail Tech Secrets written by 5bmedia’s own Christina Jones, who just happens to be the Arts and Crafts Channel Editor over here.

Beautiful nails are just one element of many to consider when trying to show off those pretty rings and bracelets you make, so yes, it does seem fitting that this blog is part of my blog roll here.
