Gunmetal Crystal Earrings

Gunmetal is already black, so if you like the oxidized look, then this a good choice to use for jewelry components and findings. One thing to be careful about, though, is that there is a coating on these, so you have be a little careful when handling them with metal tools.
Pictured is a recent project of mine: Gunmetal Crystal Earrings.

Unisex Quickie Jewelry Gifts

Funny how I managed to get “unisex” and “quickie” in the same blog post title, huh?
But, I’m talking about cell phone charms again. Not only can these be unisex jewelry items depending on the materials you use, but they are nice quick projects, a little something to tuck into a stocking or give out to co-workers which won’t cost you a lot of time or money. Here are a few projects I’ve already created for cell phone charms.

Hearty Jewelry Makers

Hsien-Hsien Lei, PhD over at b5media’s A Hearty Life recently posted about the Go Red for Women campaign. If you join up, you will be sent this cute Swarovski cyrstal pin, along with information about keeping yourself and thus your heart fit.
I know for me, since my dad had a mild heart attack last year, I’ve come to realized it was time to get my act together. I’ve sent away for the pin, and I’ve also started blogging about my attempt to get into some kind of decent shape.

Ka Pow Earrings

I haven’t written up instructions for these yet. Look for them in the future though. These were a gift for another grad this year. I was told she liked blue, and someone else had purchased a copper necklace that had a turquoise colored enamel pendant on it, so that made me think of this crystal and copper combination. The young woman I made these for has beautiful, long dark hair, so I think these will look breat on her.

Here’s some jewelry for your shoulder. This may be too late to get for mom, but maybe consider this for a birthday or holiday gift. Make some gorgeous red crystal jewelry to go with, and mom will be ready to party!
