One of my other tutorials on the basics of bead embroidery will be very helpful here! When you’re going to embroider a piece of fabric and then glue it onto a structure, use either ultra-suede or buckram as the foundation, depending upon how heavy the beads and bits are going to be. Here’s how I made this little piece:

I’ve got two articles in the issue of Jewelry Crafts magazine currently on the newsstand. The first is a spin on an Art Nouveau classic design, called Princess Hyacinth. Here’s the princess:
She’s a pretty one, isn’t she? She’s the work of Alphonse Mucha, a brilliant printmaker who lived from 1860 to 1939. The poster was an advertisment for a fairy tale ballet of the same name, and she inspired this piece:
