Call for entries: David Kodner contest

David Kodner Personal Jewelers is holding a design contest from November 1- November 20 for a piece created around a beautiful 5.20 carat moonstone. The winner will be determined by the amount of votes it receives on the David Kodner Facebook fan page. The winner will receive $500 cash, plus David Kodner will create an actual piece of jewelry from the first place submission, to be on display in the jeweler show room.
This might be a great opportunity for you to try their hand at jewelry design, as the competition is open to any skill level.

This is the 10th year for the prestigious Saul Bell Design Award competition!  Entries for the 2010 competition are due (renderings or photographs) by September 18, 2009.  On November 9, 2009, the 30 finalists will be notified.

Here are the categories for this year:
Gold/Platinum
The predominant metal is gold, platinum or a combination of both. May be cast, fabricated, forged, assembled, or any combination of techniques. Must be your original design.
Precious Metal Clay®
The predominant material is either silver or gold Precious Metal Clay® (PMC), PMC+® or PMC3®. Must be your original design.

This is the fourth Miyuki contest, sponsored by Caravan Beads! The deadline is June 1, 2009. Contest #4 summary:
Combine any Miyuki beads with the large (and still growing) world of C-Lon® threads and beading cords. You may weave, stitch, string, crochet, macrame or combine multiple techniques to create your entry.
