The Central Massachusetts chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art is having our yearly show at a local television station. Each year, the station invites us to display juried member works around a theme throughout their halls and lobby, and they further support us by doing a live show that includes interviews with the artists. They are so good to us!

The theme this year is “Heavenly Bodies”, and members interpreted that phrase in quite a few different ways! I’ll admit that I went for the obvious,and submitted a piece that included celestial imagery.

Classes, socializing, and shopping!

The Bead & Button Show is almost upon us! Although most people who are going have already made their plans, perhaps this is the first time you’re hearing about it. Or maybe you have changed your schedule recently, and you’re wondering if it’s too late.

The answer is NO! You can still go, but you’ve got to make your plans NOW!! The show starts on May 31, so visit the link above and see what classes are still available. If you just want to go for the socializing and shopping, there’s all the info you need at that link too.

Rings & Things…”Polly’s Pick” award!

I can’t remember if I showed you this bracelet earlier or not. I made it using one of the many available bracelet blanks from Rings & Things. And some finds from Home Depot! I called it Always Time for Cats.

I just received word yesterday that my design was one of Polly’s Picks. Polly is the catalog editor, and each year she gets to chose some pieces that she likes but that were not official award winners in the Your Designs Rock contest. It’s official enough for me! Entry deadline: March 15, 2009

Lark Books seeks one-of-a-kind images of found-object art to publish in a juried collection representing the most creative examples in this exciting genre. While material options are endless (recycled/repurposed wood, paper, plastics, electronics and the like), we will accept only professional quality photography. Due to trademark considerations, very few works featuring recognizable brand names or logos will be accepted. This publication is scheduled for release in Fall 2010. There is no entry fee.
