It’s Snowing Beads and Wire

You’ve probably seen these around before. They are snowflake style ornaments made with wire and loads and loads of clear crystal beads. Rings & Things has the complete directions available on their web site. These are a tad involved, so July would be a good time to get going on them. That way you don’t have the stress of trying to figure out it along with all the other stress the holidays tend to bring.

Beadshop.com has a free project on their site which incorporates this wire form and some beads. They, of course, sell all the supplies too. You could try to make the wire form yourself, but considering they sell these in packages of 8 for about $4, it might not be worth the time to do that when you are in holiday crunch mode.

I love the golden colors on this and the use of the organza ribbon at the top.

I always say I’m going to make a ton of these one day and give them as gifts. I have given out a few, but not the dozens that I imagine. Though, really, they don’t take all that long to make compared with most bead weaving projects because it uses one of the most user friendly bead weaving stitches known, netting.
I say user friendly because netting is a great stitch for beginners, but even old pros will enjoy how these turn out.
