The next step will be for the doll to be auctioned off or sold. I’m not sure exactly what the deal will be here, but I’ll let you know as soon as we hear. In the meantime, all of the photos of the finished doll are available for viewing in an album located here: TTB Album

Awhile ago, I showed you the charm that I made for a collaborative project with other mixed media artists; the finished product in the Ties That Bind project will be auctioned off to benefit ovarian cancer research. The handmade doll that is being constructed will have decorated ties around her waist to form a skirt, and many charms all around the bodice.
Our mission is simple in concept. Artists united in their creativity to benefit Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Our project: Ties That Bind.
I wanted to show you some of the ties that have been coming in. They are going to make one amazing art doll!

How could I ever say no to my friend Aileen Roberts? First she flatters me by asking me to participate in a collaborative project with other mixed media artists, some of whom I know and others whom I’d like to know, and then she tells me that the finished product will be auctioned off to benefit ovarian cancer research. How could I ever say no then? My own mother is an ovarian cancer survivor. I am honored and delighted to take part in the Ties That Bind project.

I made a charm to help embellish the torso of our doll, and am thinking about making another if more are still needed. Teal is the color for the ovarian cancer ribbon, so that’s why I chose these color accents. It’s called For RuthAnn (my mom):
