Pieces came home from Jewelry Crafts!

A whole boatload of my pieces came home recently, and I’ve been able to add most of them to my website. A couple of them already had homes to go to, so I didn’t bother to add them. The ones that are now living over at Mazel Tov! Jewelry Treasures are these:

Royal Pearls

This is another necklace that I’ve made for Jewelry Crafts magazine. I’ll be sending it off real soon for inclusion in an upcoming issue. It’s a pretty mixture of brass filigree and freshwater pearls. Very feminine, but not too sweetsy!

Run-around turquoise necklace on the cover of Jewelry Crafts!

No, it’s not the same as being on the cover of Rolling Stone, but I’m still pretty happy I’ve got two articles in the March/April issue of Jewelry Crafts magazine, and one of them is sitting right on the COVER!!

The second article is for a very easy lariat necklace in an ocean theme for the spring and summer. Long necklaces are still popular, and the lariat is a very versatile style.

I was inspired by some wooden rings to make this light and gentle necklace. It combines a lot of very easy techniques, and I’ll be sending it off to Jewelry Crafts magazine very shortly, so look for the instructions in a future issue!

I’ve got two articles in the issue of Jewelry Crafts magazine currently on the newsstand. The first is a spin on an Art Nouveau classic design, called Princess Hyacinth. Here’s the princess:

She’s a pretty one, isn’t she? She’s the work of Alphonse Mucha, a brilliant printmaker who lived from 1860 to 1939. The poster was an advertisment for a fairy tale ballet of the same name, and she inspired this piece:

Obviously, you could use any picture you wanted in this necklace, not just Princess Hyacinth

The second article is about some really quick and easy pins, stitched on a metal mesh background. These work up fast enough that if you made one in holiday colors, you’d have it ready for festive occasions in no time!

Articles in Jewelry Crafts November/December issue

I’ve got two pieces with instructions in the current issue of Jewelry Crafts magazine. They were both a lot of fun to make, and even more fun to wear! The first one, Framed, uses greeting cards and polymer clay. The second one is a shimmering mix of copper and turquoise. Because I am name-challenged, this one doesn’t have a real name yet. Please feel free to make suggestions in the comments box!

Jewelry Crafts’ Design of the Month

Jewelry Crafts magazine has a new Design of the Month feature in each issue.
