Jewelry and Beading

TummyToys

Melissa Tyler sent me this information, which I thought you might find interesting:

I am a goldsmith and have just received a patent for my TummyToy clasp. It is a ring that slides through a body piercing and snaps shut. I make it with a jump ring on the end of it so you can hang whatever charm you like from it. I thought your readers might enjoy a new way to make jewelry…and may I say this is a wide open niche for someone with a creative mind.

Melissa calls herself the Chief Navel Officer of TummyToys! Very very cute :-)

    UGH!!! SOME DAY BODY PIERCERS
    WILL REGRET THEIR STUPIDTY.

TATTOOED PEOPLE WILL HAVE THE SAME REGRETS.

    YOUR BODYS ARE BEAUTIFUL
    ENOUGH/

    To each her own :-)

Grow up Bet. If you dont like it- dont have it done.

Is that what your grandma said in front of you? Have you tried thinking about it since then?

Sounds just like something my mom would unthinkingly spout, never having considered why someone would want to do it, before.

There are lots of reasons, and trying to be more beautiful is not even the most common.

If your body is beautiful enough, why adorn it with clothes or hairstyles (don’t get me started on make-up)?

This generation doesn’t like things your gen did, either. What’s with the high heels? You’ll regret those bunyons someday! All the old ladies who come into the shoe shop have horribly mangled feet…

We know plenty of people who never regretted their piercings/tattoos. Why insist people regret what you would regret? To each their own is a profound truth.
