I go to a lot of estate auctions and the craft items there go for a great price!
Flea markets, yard sales, op shops, Etsy and eBay are good source for cheap (or not “TOO” expensive) beads, oh, and friends who try all sorts of crafts and get bored with them after a while!!
I find estate sales and yard sales are the place to find great beads. Also Freecycle.com is another great place to get free beads, sometimes all you have to do is ask

I look for clothing or wall hangings, baskets etc at thrift stores that has beading on it. I have even seen beads on old shoes. You can find them anywhere if you keep an open mind. Old purses sometimes have old beads on it them, especially if it is a beaded purse in poor condition. You can pick it up cheap. Lampshades can have beads too. A shade is worth two or three dollars if it has beads on it you can use.
