Jewelry and Beading

Waves

Make Art Monday!

Waves

Waves in not a very original name, but it’s the best I could come up with on short notice! You know I’m name-challenged. If you’ve got a better suggestion, please leave it here in the comments :-)

Anyway, the beaded bead in Waves is very similar to the one I showed you a couple of weeks ago, all made from metal! This time I used several sizes of seed beads to create a twisting peyote spiral. It really couldn’t be easier to do, even though I looks kind of impressive. Tomorrow I’ll share the techniques with you!

Wow! that is very pretty but looks much too complicated for me to try.

  2. Cyndi says:

It is so not complicated, Sue! It’s just spiraling peyote stitch with several different sized beads!

  3. Sue says:

That is the problem though, I can’t seem to get the peyote stitch right. In some places it was a lot looser than others. I actually tried to do the peyote stitch about 2 weeks ago and it was a mess when I got finished. I wish I could do stuff that intricate but I havn’t got the fine motor skills for it.

  4. Fabulous! Design and color is very nice. But looks a little heavy. As i myself prefer light stuff. But still it’s great!

Ahhhh! If you really want to master peyote, I’d suggest working through some sample flat pieces using larger beads. It’s a bit tricky to keep the tension even on the larger ones, but it trains your fingers to do the motions.

Then again, there are so many things to do with beads, not everyone *has* to do bead weaving! :-)

  6. Cyndi says:

If you mean heavy as in weight, not at all! It’s hollow. If you mean heavy as in appearance, oh well :-)
