10 Things I Want for My Kitchen

There’s a fun meme, called “Ten Things I Want for My Kitchen“, going around cooking and food blogs. I haven’t been tagged, but I’ll join in anyway (is that allowed or should I wait for someone to tag me?).

Here’s my wish list of ten items for my dream kitchen:

1. Wusthof Santoku Knife. Wusthof makes some of the best knives. And a santoku is not just an in-thing these days. It’s a high-quality staple for many professional chefs too.

2. KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer, with all the attachments. I like to bake, and this mixer just seems to make baking so easy. Plus, I would love to have all those extra gadgets.

3. A professional grade ultra-quiet yet powerful range hood. With the garlicky and oniony food I often cook, having a state-of-the-art hood will greatly reduce the food odors in my kitchen and in my house!

4. Space, lots of space. I want yards of counter space, for prepping, eating, and generally hanging out. Plus a walk-in pantry. I basically would like a room that will hold everything and keep them out of sight. Every gadget, every pot and pan, every can and container of food will be organized (in my dreams).

5. AeroGarden. To grow herbs in right in my own kitchen.

6. FoodSaver Vacuum Pack. This just seems to be so logical for storing food.

7. Pampered Chef Stoneware. I heard that baking in stoneware results in exquisitely moist cakes.

8. A double oven. Obviously, so I can bake or roast 2 different items at the same time.

9. The latest George Foreman Grill. I have a small one right now, and get a lot of use from it. Imagine having a full-sized one!

10. A big bamboo steamer. For making all sorts of rice cakes, spring rolls and dimsum.
