Keeping the Castle

A Busy and Full Week

The kids were off from school this week for Easter break, so we went out of town to visit my parents.  It’s been a busy week.  Sorry for the sporadic posts.  It’s hard to keep a schedule when you’re visiting.

We just got back home last night and look at what awaits my attention.

Eeek!  That’s quite a bit of stuff, huh?  Yes, somewhere under that pile is our luggage.  We have luggage, snacks and other food, stuff to plant in the garden, friendship bread starters (more on that later), toys, birthday presents for J, Easter presents for the kids, and lots of lots of hand-me-downs.  (Thanks, Karen!)  Oh, how we enjoy hand-me-downs!!!!!  :)

While we were gone visiting with my parents we were busy, busy.  We arrived on Monday evening and I began cooking as soon as we arrived.  Tuesday my aunt came to visit with her two grandchildren (my second cousins).  All the kids had a great time playing.  Wednesday was J’s 11th birthday.  We took him and the kids to Chuck E. Cheese.   (Sorry, no pics of him until the adoption is complete.)  We came back home and opened presents and had yummy chocolate cake.  Wednesday night we attended church with my parents.  Thursday my friend Revka came over for a visit with her children.  (She also helped me sign-up for text link ads on one of my other blogs.  Thanks so much, Revka!)  Friday my parents took us out to lunch (thanks mom and dad) and then we visited with my grandma.  After that I came back to my parent’s house to pack, clean up, and cook the friendship bread.

What a busy time we had.  I hope I can get back on schedule now.  How was your week?

  1. [...] We just returned from mom and dad’s house a few days ago.  As usual, my friend had some clothes for my kids.  We really enjoy hand-me-downs.  The clothes are nice and most of them look new.  I’m so thankful for this blessing that saves me money.  I’ve been busy sorting through five trash bags of hand-me-downs.  It is overwhelming!
