On behalf of b5media, I apologize for the inaccessibility of Keeping the Castle yesterday. We’ve had some server issues, which had the tech team working even more frantically behind the scenes. Everything seems to be back to normal now (thanks, team!), so I can finally show you this really cute home office found at Lowe’s Creative Ideas.
It’s a closet that’s been fixed up, and furnished to provide just the right amount of space and organization for conducting business from a home.
I would love to have this kind of space. It’s very compact yet seems to have everything it needs. I love the idea of being able to hide the entire space with curtains. I also learned that I can make any wall into a magnetic surface, a dry erase board, or a chalkboard, with just a can of paint! How cool is that?
Lowe’s also offers these general tips for organizing your home office:
- Designate two boxes as “In” and “Out” for daily mail.
- For office spaces without desk drawers, use baskets or bins to store loose items.
- Organize work baskets in order of priority, so you always have the most important items on hand.
- Use a separate wastebasket to collect paper for recycling.
- Small planters and paint cans are hard workers when it comes to holding pencils, pens, and other office supplies.

I love this closet made into an office. It is beautiful. What terrific, warm colors. I used a space under my stairs similarly, but I am all about utility and less about the beauty. This gives me some great ideas. Thanks for sharing!

I like the curtain instead of louver doors.
I want to try this but use the Ralph Lauren metallic paint on the interior for a little glam, maybe a vintage chandelier too
I have a room I want to turn into an office (closet), sewing space (I never sew, lousy at it but if I had the space…
and a home gym. Ambitious I know!
I am building a replica office of this right now. I got pine shelves cut to size. I like how the inside of the closet is painted, I’m painting closet dark green and shelving light green, can’t wait to bliss out in my new awesome office
I love the colors that were picked for this example. the use of the dark brown on the back wall makes the space feel very comfortable and inviting. Looks like there’s a ton of storage space as well.
