Best Frugal Tips

There are many ways that one can save money around the home. Here are some of my frugal tips:
1. Use both sides of a sheet of paper. As a graduate student, I generated reams of print-outs of my manuscript. I kept all the papers, and now use them for general printing jobs (eg., Mapquest print-outs) and for my son to draw on.
2. Instead of turning up the heater whenever I feel cold, I just put on a sweater and socks. Sometimes, I wear socks to bed to keep warm and cozy.
3. I maximize our public library. Nothing beats free and there are many great books available for borrowing.
4. I use old washcloths on my Swiffer. Instead of buying the refill for the cleaning solution, I use water instead.

FYI: I resue my swifter wet bottle and refill with water, detergent and a drop or to of bleach. You can use whatever you like but is is cool to knwo you never have to buy another bottle.
