Fresh Homemade Lemonade

Today was my first attempt at making fresh lemonade. My dad bought a bag of lemons because they were on sale for $1.99 and I thought I’d give it a shot. Homemade lemonade is so yummy anyway.

I tried two different kinds of gadgets – the old fashioned hand squeezer and the lemon press. The lemon press was much easier to use and it seemed like it did a much better job at getting all of the juice out of the lemons. The directions on the lemon press said to cut the lemons in half. It was easier to press them when I cut them into thirds.

The five lemons only made about 2 quarts of lemonade. Needless to say, it did not last long at all.
Since I had never made lemonade before, I can’t give an exact recipe. I had to play with the mixture a little bit to get it to taste right. I used five squeezed lemons (I like it with pulp), 1 to 1 1/2 cups of sugar, and then filled with water until I got 2 quarts of lemonade. It was a nice tasty treat.
