Saving money is fun!
That’s the mesage of the Money Mammals, a group of characters who teach kids how to “share and save, and spend smart too”.
Created and Produced by John Lanza, Producer of the Emmy Award winning show, “Life With Louie,” “The Money Mammals: Saving Money is Fun
” (aff) is an insightful venture that explores the importance of teaching young children the value of money. “We’ve all read that the savings rate in America is too low. Americans can become savers once again and The Money Mammals can help.” says Lanza, “We help teach them young by making it fun.”
The message is contained in a 30-minute DVD that is endorsed by Kid’s First, approved by The Dove Foundation, and has been given the Film Advisory Board Seal of Excellence.
Experts say that children can be taught simple lessons about money as soon as they can count. This reminds me to start teaching my preschooler about money management. He can count, can identify coins and already understands the idea of buying something from the store. Saving money is an important lesson he needs to learn. I would say it’s even more important than learning to pick up after himself.

Teaching kids how to save is such an important thing for parents to do. Too many of us didn’t learn that lesson at a young age when it’s easier to incorporate into our lives. Thanks so much for this post.
Hi, Maricar! I recently found out about this program, and it sounds great. I like that it is targeted to kids ages 2-6. Train them early, and train them right.
